Belk Emerging Leaders are the top performers in their field and the program
prepares you to move quickly into an accelerated career path at Belk.
Emerging Leaders Program will offer an intensive focus on professional
development, job specific skill mastery and exposure to multiple aspects of the
organization including senior leadership. Within
the program cohorts will participate in live
training workshops, webinars, on-the-job project assignments, and rotations
into other roles within the company.
The Emerging Leaders Program will look to hire numerous Accounting and Finance candidates in our Charlotte, NC Headquarters.
- Support projects
that can include: Accounts Payable, Advertising Accounting,
Budgeting/ Financial Reporting, Capital Planning, General Accounting,
Import Accounting, Retail Accounting, and Financial Reporting
- Demonstrate a
working knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles and practices by
engaging in challenging assignments
- Will need to understand policies/procedures and communicate them
- Formulate/administer budgets
and analyze related reports
- Complete assigned
projects by working with others within the department, gaining a broad
perspective on both the functions of the department and how it relates to
the overall goals of the company.
- Complete assigned ELP projects working as a team with fellow ELP cohorts and using
have graduated within 12 months of June 2017 or be graduating by June 2017
to start fulltime in June 2017
- Proven strong academic performer (GPA of 3.2
or higher preferred)
- 2 years of related experience or 1 prior
internship in field strongly preferred
organizational, time management and leadership skills are required
ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers and all levels
of the organization
- Committed to meeting goals within a
dynamic, fast-paced and results oriented environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word,
and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to perform mathematical
calculations and/or balance computations.
- Ability to analyze/evaluate invoice,
statistical or accounting data
- Must be authorized to work in the
United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Belk for
this position now or in the future
