The Taxonomist provides direction for the strategy for the onsite customer experience. Partners across multiple groups including On Site Search, SEO and Merchandising to determine proper execution. Applies expertise to drive revenue for multiple websites, mobile and functionality using Product Taxonomy.
Develops onsite taxonomy strategic roadmap; prioritizes all technology enhancements including improvements to onsite navigation and relevancy strategies, recommends foundational architectural changes for site configuration
Analyze onsite customer behavior and metrics reports to improve navigation, product hieracrchy and site structure
Reviews and evaluates feedback from Merchants; translates findings into strategic action; measure and review actions for value provided
Benchmarks the Belk.com onsite experience and feature set versus its competitors; translate findings into strategic action
Sets-up and manages customer facing taxonomy structure as well as mapping between systems for both standard navigation, facets and merchandised assortments
Partners with search and SEO to collaborate on changes that impact customer experience
Manage product profitability and customer satisfaction over time.
Format and communicate results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualization methods appropriate to the target audience.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of specific products/applications, and provides expert advice regarding their product/application
Build long-term, strategic relationships with cross functional team members including Merchandising, SEO, Search and IT stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Management, Computer Science, Library Science or related field strongly preferred
2-5 years of applicable experience
Experience in digital product management, retail management, marketing, digital merchandising and/or internet marketing
Thorough understanding of structured and unstructured data, and ability to make connections between data and business goals
Solid understanding of Online user behaviors, Web Analytics, and Internet technology
