The Senior Network Engineer takes responsibility for major designs, installation, configuration, implementation and support of all aspects of the network environment, providing technical guidance and oversight and acting as a point of escalation and technical expert.
Provides advice, assistance and leadership into designs, documents, communicates, and enforces network standards, policies and procedures for standardizing network assets.
Participates in network architecture reviews.
Understands the intricacies of combined onshore-offshore support models
Performs detailed designs of new or changing network infrastructure.
Installs, configures, maintains, and replaces network hardware and software.
Conducts multiple levels of testing prior to release of new and upgraded network systems, products or services.
Performs root cause analysis, resolves problems and recommends solutions.
Establishes guidelines and standards for capacity management review and establishes standards for network operations.
Monitors and plans capacity of all network infrastructures, devices and data circuits to plan for future growth.
Analyzes system performance and performs preventative networks maintenance to provide availability according to operating level agreements.
Works towards providing a fully redundant high availability infrastructure at all times.
Performs monitoring, alerting, reporting, and trending of network and telecom systems.
Performs business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
Develops automation scripts and programs to streamline manual operations and reduce manpower requirement in maintenance and monitoring activities.
Performs troubleshooting and issue resolution and escalate issues to appropriate 3rd party vendor if needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education
5-8 years of experience
Current CCNA network certification or greater
Working expertise with firewalls, access control lists, and load balancers
Working expertise with routing and switching technologies - Deep knowledge of Cisco routing protocols including WaaS, iWan, and PfR
Working expertise in network device monitoring and capacity planning
Working knowledge of security strategies and practices
Working knowledge/experience with Cisco Nexus (N7K or newer)
Wireless networking in large scale Office, store and Warehouse environments
VOIP/SIP migration/implementation experience

Cisco ACE/CSS load balancers

Preferred Education & Experience:
Take responsibility for network installation projects.
Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensures that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
Analyze service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability.
Validate that services and components meet and continue to meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels.
Implement arrangements for disaster recovery and documents recovery procedures.
Conduct testing of DR/BC recovery procedures.
Validate that service delivery meets agreed service levels.
Diagnose service delivery problems and initiate actions to maintain or improve levels of service.
Establish and maintain operational methods, procedures and facilities in assigned area of responsibility and reviews them regularly for effectiveness and efficiency.
Draft and maintain procedures and documentation for network support.
