Position Summary

The role of the Senior Financial Analyst is to provide accurate, timely and insightful financial and operational analysis, prepare financial presentations, perform ad-hoc analysis and to identify and implement process improvement opportunities both within the Financial Planning Department and throughout the organization.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Manage monthly and quarterly reporting process for key senior management deliverables, including Executive Committee reporting, Board of Directors materials, and Competitor Benchmarking
  • Become a subject matter expert in and serve as main FP&A business partner to the Merchandising department.  This includes assisting in the development of annual expense and capital budgets, coordinating forecast updates based on business trends, assisting with requested financial modeling and understanding current risks and opportunities within the Merchandising department.
  • Work directly with senior management, including the CFO, to prepare materials for the quarterly earnings call.
  • Perform financial analysis and risk assessment for potential vendors and provide recommendations to Strategic Sourcing as part of the RFP process
  • Identify and drive process improvements within the FP&A Department, including but not limited to report reduction, process automation, improved use of technology, improved communication and documentation of key assumptions
  • Implement reporting changes and drive report efficiencies needed to support management requests
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis, as requested by management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Corporate Finance associates and management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with departmental and divisional management and expense budget owners

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education, Training, and/or Certifications: 

·        Four Year Degree, Finance or Business, MBA preferred

 

Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • 3-4 years of applicable experience working in Corporate Finance or Accounting (retail a plus)

 

Preferred:

Hyperion Planning and Essbase experience
