The Information Management Sr. Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation of projects while supporting existing and enhancements activities related to EDW using but not limited to BI Publisher, MicroStrategy and Tableau. Primary responsibilities include elicitation of requirements, documentation, analysis, solution design, testing design, testing execution and business change management. This position works with stakeholders and technical staff to translate business needs into system solutions. Additional responsibilities include product development and on-going production support to the end users.
Elicit business requirements
Work closely with business users to understand their needs while looking for opportunities to use technology to improve the analysis to make actionable decisions.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for necessary systems modifications to satisfy business needs.
Deliver business and functional requirements on behalf of the business to a systems analyst for development.
Develop an excellent working relationship with cross functional teams.
Collaborate with business partners to determine the best technical solution to achieve objectives.
Understand the applications to provide support and train users. Evaluate Report design, functionality and document enhancement recommendations from business stakeholders and product managers.
Serve as a subject matter expert of content, processes, and procedures associated with the design of efficient, cost effective solutions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Information Management industry standards and best practices.
Monitor and analyze products, services, market trends.
Monitor the user experience and customer requirements.
Assist in performing user demos of proposed designs.
Deliver on-time, accurately, with great performance and usability
Assist the business in developing business cases, cost analysis, benefit analysis and risk analysis.
Coordinate updates with the various members of key business units to ensure ongoing functionality.
Provide quality and responsive customer focused service.
Acts as liaison between systems software development staff, management and end-users.
Coordinate the implementation of the system software, including conversion of data
Collaborate with QA and technical teams to develop test scripts based on functional specifications
Participate in testing of system enhancements and modifications.
Perform quality reviews of data results throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with application support team to resolve system issues.
Work with the teams to ensure training materials and curriculums are developed to support system enhancements and modifications. Document system specifications and communicate any changes in procedure.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or other related degrees.
8 or more years in a business analyst or technical lead role.
8 or more years’ experience defining requirements for enterprise documentation.
7 or more years in retail Information Management or related field.
Experience in design, development, implementation and deployment of business intelligence reports using various products like MicroStrategy, Tableau, Excel and BI Publisher.
Experience with software testing tools.
Experience working on large, complex projects in an online retailing arena.
Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Experience writing technical documents, business requirements documents and user manuals.
Proven ability to communicate complex data issues to a wide variety of decision-makers and interface with executive management, vendors and staff at all levels
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project
Experience in Agile methodology
Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence
Must demonstrate excellent business analysis skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility among the team
Use current technology and tools to enhance deliverables
Able to identify, challenge, and consider opportunities outside of conventional thinking and traditional ways of operating to resolve problems or inefficiencies.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of retail and have experience working with Merchants and Buyers.
