Position Summary:

The Replenishment Analyst is responsible for partnering with merchant offices and forecast analysts to drive replenishment strategies that maximize sales and inventory productivity.  Through active management of replenishment policies combined with regular analysis of business opportunities, the replenishment analysts are key members of the business team at Belk.

 

Candidates will need to be able to balance expertise on the replenishment system with strong analytical abilities and an understanding of the retail business.  An analytical mindset and a desire to work at low levels of detail (down to SKU/Location level) to find and surface opportunities for improvement is a must.  The analyst must also enjoy working with merchant teams and be comfortable working proactively and independently with teams to provide a strong replenishment viewpoint and suggestions to drive business.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

  • Become proficient at managing policies in the Oracle RMS Replenishment system to achieve desired business results
  • Optimize replenishment inventory levels to drive sales, balancing InStk levels with inventory productivity and OTB constraints
  • Review daily and weekly replenishment orders (ROQs) to understand and communicate exceptions and trends to business teams
  • Conduct regular analysis of the replenishment business, proactively surfacing opportunities to drive sales and productivity
  • Provide regular reporting to help the business understand key metrics like InStks, Supply chain opportunities and Vendor Fill Rates
  • Understand replenishments role in within the Omni-Channel experience to optimize inventory across channels
  • Work closely with forecast analysts to review and understand demand sales forecasts to understand how the forecasts align with business strategies and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead regular forecast review meetings with merchant teams in conjunction with forecast analysts
  • Provide a replenishment perspective during monthly OTB meetings with merchant teams
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining a focus on serving the needs of multiple merchant offices

 

The Replenishment Analyst position provides experience and growth opportunities that may enable advancement to Planner, Associate Buyer or Forecast Analyst.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Four-year college degree or comparable experience
  • 2-3 years of retail experience; experience with replenishment businesses preferred
  • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, If Statements)
  • Strong retail math and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks and initiatives
  • Confidence to work independently with different levels across the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment
