Position Summary:
The Associate QA Engineer Integrations is responsible for supporting middleware testing across Belk from a functional and automation perspective by supporting quality assurance programs and processes in alignment with the QA strategy, as well as providing feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phase within client projects; authoring test cases; and performing test execution for both project and support related activities. Works with all IT teams to ensure that QA best practices and processes are followed.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • 3-6 years’ experience developing and testing highly distributed, complex eCommerce Platforms

  • Defines develop and maintain test scripts

  • Experience testing software at API and Web service level.

  • Experience with Parasoft Virtualize and SOAtest.

  • Able to perform testing for feeds in various formats like XML, JSON, and CSV

  • Experience testing different web service methodologies REST, SOAP, over XML, JSON payloads

  • Understanding of web technology including HTTP headers, HTTP Verbs (Get, Post).

  • Validating and certifying web services using SOAtest, Soap UI / TestNG

  • Strong prior experience in test technologies such as JUnit, TestNG or equivalent technologies.

  • QE experience in J2EE technologies strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience working with database (Oracle, MySQL, DB2) and writing SQL queries.

  • Experience with white box testing and building testing frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills.

  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage of functional tests and automated regression test suites.

  • Create functional test cases based on requirements and design documents in collaboration with business analysts, developers and architects

  • Perform test data readiness for test cases, as applicable

  • Escalates proactively issues to the QA Lead

  • Alerts the project team on the potential impact to test schedule

  • Provides timely and accurate status defect information and appropriate metrics to facilitate QA reporting.

  • Participates in all different test phase as per the project needs

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 3-6 years of experience in Web services testing.

  • Ability to develop reports and presentations that effectively communicate important and complex processes in business terms

  • Ability to develop STUBS using Open Source or PARASOFT tools

  • Experience in Service Virtualization. Using CA Lisa or Parasoft Virtualize.

  • Experience with test tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Parasoft.

     

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Ability to program in scripting languages (C, VBScript, Java)

  • Knowledge of defect management tools (HP ALM, JIRA)

  • Experience with Selenium and HP UFT.

  • Retail industry experience
