Position Summary   

The primary role of the Financial Reporting & Internal Control Analyst is to prepare accurate and timely internal and external financial statements prior to submitting to senior management and external sources.  In addition, supporting proper internal control compliance and documentation is an integral component of this position.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly financial reports, including obtaining information from numerous internal sources.
  • Coordinate items related to the internal control process, including internal self-assessments of controls and internal certifications from key employees and senior management.
  • Prepare summarized monthly balance sheet and cash flow statements, as well as research variances and provide summary to supervisor.
  • Perform technical accounting research on issues and prepare accounting position papers to document appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare materials for use at the quarterly executive meetings, including obtaining information from multiple sources, such as external auditors, legal, and tax. 
  • Coordinate with the external auditors all items needed for their annual audit.  Will serve as liaison with the external audit team. 
  • Coordinate quarterly significant accounting adjustments summary and support for review by CFO.
  • Record limited journal entries related to external reporting, as well as prepare quarterly account reconciliations/roll-forwards.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed 

Position Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Four year degree - Accounting or Business with Accounting Concentration


Preferred Education & Experience:

  • 1-2 years accounting work experience (preferred)
  • Public accounting and financial statement audit experience (preferred)
  • CPA (preferred)



  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles under GAAP

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (primarily Excel and Word)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization, including senior management

  • Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently as the situation demands
