Position Summary:The Assistant Stylist / Prepper is responsible for the preparation of merchandise for photography ensuring all merchandise is accounted for, prepped and organized for all types of media
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

·       Provides assistance by prepping product and fashion merchandise samples for on-figure and off-figure photography following creative concepts and styling standards that promote merchandise objectives and brand strategies;

o   Supports photo shoots by prepping merchandise in a timely and efficient manner

o   Steams and irons fabrics and understands how fabrics react to a variety of prepping methods

o   Lines soft goods with material needed to give structure and dimension to product; builds stacks for off-figure and soft home merchandise

o   Assists with on-set photography duties such as removing pins, de-prepping merchandise, pulling props and photo composition as necessary

·       Coordinates use of samples between projects and multiple teams;

o   Manages merchandise flow as it travels through all phases of production

·       Helps maintain and organize photo sample and prop storage areas

o   Ensures styling rooms are organized, maintained and in efficient working order

o   Helps organize and categorize storage areas for ease of use

o   Maintains current usability of props to include helping identify props in need of replacement and laundering items as needed

·       Procures props as directed and provides creative solutions to styling issues when appropriate

·       Keeps up to date with trends in retail fashion

·       Other duties as required


-Background in art, design, visual display or photography preferred
-1 year of retail, fashion, or other related experience preferred
-Knowledge of steaming and ironing in a retail setting is a plus
-Working knowledge of current fashion trends with strong sense of style
-Proficient with PC and MAC


·       Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos

·       Ability to work quickly and efficiently

·       Team player with ability to work independently

·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines

·       Must be able to work in a production environment

·       Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited direction or standardization exists.
