The Retail Development Program – Stores prepares associates for a future role as a Sales Team Manager through an intensive 6-month program designed to sharpen the ability to drive results and develop skills needed to be successful store leaders. Participants gain experience and exposure to various functional areas of the store and understand how the full team collaborates to deliver Modern. Southern. Style. to our customers. Skills are developed through professional development training at our corporate headquarters, structured shadowing assignments in stores, and tailored on-the-job experiences, as well as exposure to senior leaders from across the organization. Participants are matched with coaches who encourage their development while working with them on the job, providing coaching, and identifying future career possibilities in store leadership.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a permanent role as a Sales Team Manager, continuing to develop and taking responsibility for:
· Managing a multimillion-dollar business and driving the profitability of that department
· Leading and inspiring a team to achieve results
· Analyzing business trends and working with store and regional management to lead improvements on the team
The Retail Development Program – Stores will hire candidates in several major metro areas in the Southeast. Participants will benefit from an engaged leadership team and a large network of peers across Belk in the Retail Development Program.
